Beginning jewelry focuses on the basics of fabrication: sawing, filing, sanding, texturing, polishing, stone setting. Practicing during our open bench time weekly is a great way to build skills.

As artisanal jewelers, we usually ignore the bezels and just say it is handmade. Master Dan is a believer in this, as it can add a handmade look but we should do it on purpose as a choice and not because we can’t do it better. Kennedy Half Dollar Ring
First minted in 1964, is a fifty-cent coin currently issued by the United States Mint. Intended as a memorial to the assassinated 35th president of the United States John F. Kennedy, it was authorized by Congress just over a month after his death. The use of existing works by Mint sculptors Gilroy Roberts and Frank Gasparro allowed dies to be prepared quickly, and the striking of the new coins began in January 1964. In the interest of time, the striking of the new coin was to begin in January 1964.
